CANCER!

This last week has been a stressful, hard period of time. I would like to express my gratitude to my extended family for their loving support of my family during this time.

12 days ago, my mama underwent a colonoscopy, and was found to have a significant blockage that was confirmed to be cancer a few days later. Subsequently, she was scheduled for surgery this week for removal of the tumor and pathological staging. We found out on Friday, that Mama has Stage IIIB colon cancer, and it is recommended that she undergo chemotherapy.

My hunny and I made an emergency trip to Texas to be with my parents during this trying time. We got home later yesterday, and I'm still exhausted, but I'm so glad that I was able to be at home this last week. Again, I want to thank the wonderful people that I work with for their flexibility and understanding during this time.

Honestly, it has been a difficult experience to face up to this diagnosis...and all the implications. I have cried many tears, and asked many unanswerable questions. I know that God will continue to strengthen my parents for the road ahead, and I ask you for your prayers for them.
