My brother visited this last weekend on his way between North Dakota and Missouri. We had a really good time...gaming together, sharing music and just chatting! Plus we great news while he was here too, so overall it was a wonderful weekend. I'm actually looking forward to his return in two weeks! :P
I finally got the Oddball Blanket #3, and enclosed from divagirl, was a gorgeous varigated skein of mmmmmmalabrigo in Oceanos. It is SOOOOoooo soft! This is my second time to use merino yarn...and I'm hooked! My bias against wool is far-reaching, but these merino yarns have wiggled their way into my knitting. After perusing many of the free scarf designs available online, and knitting a couple of swatches, I have decided on the Scrunchable Scarf. It will give a nice texture, but allow the beauty of the yarn's colorway to be easily appreciated. I've never had a wool scarf before, but I figured that it would be a nice addition to my small winter wardrobe as I head into my second Wisconsin winter. Thank you so much, divagirl!
My yarn stash is so virtually non-existant that I find myself needing to go shopping again for yarn for the Oddball Blanket! I had such a good time with the Oddball Sunshine Shawl, and just loved the fingerling yarn that I got in Baraboo, the color was Sunrise! Though after trying to get the mmmmmmmmmmmalabrigo into a ball last night, I have to find a better way...it was so slow!
Oh, I've been reading the reviews on the new Harmony Options, and I think that I'm gonna have to try them! I had been thinking about the regular Options, but I don't really like the metal needles, too slippery for me...but the wooden Harmony tips sounds just perfect! Now, I just need to wait until next month, or maybe put off some other spending from my mad money fund!
